Harbor Homes is seeking a compassionate, organized, and community-minded Outreach Coordinator to help connect neighbors experiencing homelessness to essential resources, care, and a pathway to stability.

Location: Martha’s Vineyard, MA

Compensation: $25/hour, 20 hours per week.

About the Position:

As the Outreach Coordinator, you’ll make a direct impact in the lives of unhoused individuals by providing on-the-spot support, navigating local resources, and collaborating with dedicated team members and partners across Martha’s Vineyard. In this role, you’ll help plan and deliver outreach activities, connect people to transportation and emergency services, assemble and distribute survival kits, and maintain records of all outreach. Work will involve traveling to outreach sites and other local community locations; occasional evening or weekend hours may be needed based on program activities. 

What You'll Do:

• Provide resources and referrals to participants seeking support
• Assist with emergency services information and safe transportation coordination
• Help plan and run community-building recreational activities
• Build connections between participants, partners, and staff
• Collect and maintain outreach records and impact data
• Support survival kit preparation and distribution
• Represent Harbor Homes at outreach events and in the community
• Monitor and respond to the 24/7 homeless services hotline during scheduled part-time shifts and provide additional coverage as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree (or equivalent experience in human services, nonprofit, or direct service) preferred
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Experience with outreach, social services, or community engagement is highly valued
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to use standard office and data systems (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or similar)

Other Details:

• This is a regular, part-time position (20 hours/week)
• Eligible to participate in Harbor Homes’ 401k program; no additional benefits
• Evening, weekend, or irregular hours may occasionally be required
