Position Overview:
Teachers at Harbor Christian Academy play a vital role in shaping both the minds and hearts of students. They offer rich, effective instruction aligned with state literacy and math standards while intentionally integrating Biblical truth into all areas of learning. Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with top-quality HCA curriculum
- Intentionally integrate a Biblical worldview into lessons, discussions, and classroom culture
- Foster a safe, orderly, and nurturing classroom environment rooted in grace, truth, and high expectations
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs and abilities
- Build strong, respectful partnerships with parents through regular communication and conferences
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and use data to guide instruction
- Participate actively in chapel, staff meetings, professional development, and school events
- Model Christ-like character and servant leadership in all interactions
- Support and uphold the mission, vision, core values, and Statement of Faith of Harbor Christian Academy, as outlined in the Staff Handbook
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Current state teaching or ACSI certification (or ability to obtain)
- A personal, active faith in Jesus Christ, agreement with HCA’s Statement of Faith, and participation in a church aligned with our mission to immerse students in a biblical worldview, cultivate academic excellence and spiritual growth, shape Christlike character, and empower students to transform the world through leadership and service.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Commitment to academic excellence and student discipleship
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in a growing school community
Preferred Qualifications
- Elementary classroom teaching experience
- Experience integrating faith and learning
- Familiarity with project-based learning or real-world instructional connections
