We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sleep Technician to join our team as a 1099 independent contractor. In this remote role, you will primarily assist patients with CPAP setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting to ensure therapy success. You'll provide technical guidance and support to help patients optimize their sleep therapy experience.
Description
Key Responsibilities
- Guide patients through initial CPAP setup via telehealth platform
- Provide comprehensive education on proper CPAP use, maintenance, and care
- Remotely troubleshoot common CPAP issues and equipment malfunctions
- Monitor CPAP compliance data and reach out to non-compliant patients
- Recommend mask adjustments or alternative options to improve comfort and adherence
- Communicate therapy challenges to sleep physicians when necessary
- Conduct follow-up telehealth sessions to assess therapy progress
- Document all patient interactions and technical support provided
- Assist with basic interpretation of sleep data from CPAP machines
Qualifications
- RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) certification preferred OR Respiratory Therapist
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with CPAP therapy and equipment
- Extensive knowledge of various CPAP machines, masks, and accessories
- Experience in patient education regarding sleep therapy
- Strong technical troubleshooting abilities specific to CPAP equipment
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Patience and empathy when working with patients new to CPAP therapy
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills
- Available to work flexible hours to accommodate patient scheduling needs

Salary
$35 - $45 per hour
