At Hands-On House, we believe all children should have access to the play-based learning our museum offers. That’s why we created Discovery to Go, a community education program that brings our interactive approach to learning to schools and community organizations across Lancaster County and beyond! As an Outreach Instructor you will be part of a cohort of instructors trained to deliver one or more of our beloved, interactive workshops to students from pre-K to third grade.
Are you an educator with stage presence? Or a performer with a passion for teaching? Do you have fond memories of school assemblies that brought hands-on learning to your classroom?
If so, consider applying to be an Outreach Instructor at Hands-On House Children’s Museum of Lancaster!
How It Works
Once trained, you will be added to our instructor roster, and you will be asked about your availability. When schools book a workshop, we will contact you, confirm your availability, and schedule you to deliver the workshop.
Once scheduled, you will be responsible for program delivery. This includes the set-up of learning stations, presentation of learning content in a group setting, guiding student inquiry and discovery, and transporting materials to and from the school in our museum van.
