Handl Health, Inc. Product Manager (Care Navigation & Member Search) Remote · Full time Company website

We are looking for a Product Manager to own the member navigation and search experience: the product that helps people find the right provider for the right care at the right price.

About Handl Health, Inc.

Workers and their families deserve accessible, affordable and personalized healthcare. But the tools to create that healthcare, the technology needed to design, deploy and manage a truly custom plan, haven’t existed. Look at it another way: SMB employers are spending over $233 billion annually on healthcare for their employees. Yet most of them offer plans that can’t account for unique demographics, cost drivers or the care needs of their workforce. Those billions of dollars buy healthcare plans that everyone kind of hates. Series A-funded Hand Health exists to give them all something better. At Handl, we are quickly growing the team to better serve the people who carry the responsibility of making healthcare affordable and accessible for working people and their families. When we create solutions for health plans (carriers and TPAs), brokers and plan sponsors (employers), we’re helping them transform healthcare in this country. Handl’s technology delivers the infrastructure, analytics and insights needed to power the next generation of alternative health plans. We are a growing, mission-driven team that values thoughtful execution, collaboration and balance. We work hard, support one another and stay focused on our shared goal: making healthcare more affordable and transparent for everyone.

Description

The Role

At Handl, we turn opaque healthcare pricing into decisions people can actually act on. The hardest part of that promise isn’t the data; it’s the moment a member needs care and has to figure out where to go, what it will cost and whether it’s a good choice. We are looking for a Product Manager to own the member navigation and search experience: the product that helps people find the right provider for the right care at the right price.

You’ll partner closely with the teams that produce our underlying pricing data, and your job is the experience — findability, clarity, decision support and member trust — not the pipelines beneath it.

You will report directly to the Chief Product Officer and serve as the product leader for the member-facing navigation and search experience across our products.

This role is best suited for PMs who have shipped consumer search, marketplace or decision-support products and who care deeply about how real people make confusing, high-stakes choices.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the member navigation and search experience: the product members use to find providers and procedures, understand cost and quality, and choose where to get care.

  • Define search, ranking, and relevance: how members query, how results are ordered and filtered, and how we make the most useful option easy to find.

  •  Turn cost and quality data into clear guidance: design how price estimates, provider information, and quality signals are presented so a non-expert can decide with confidence.

  • Own the experience when data is incomplete: define graceful fallbacks, confidence cues, and messaging for searches where we have partial or no answer, so members are never misled.

  • Partner with the data and platform teams: translate member needs into clear requirements for the pricing and provider data that powers search, and validate that what surfaces is accurate.

  • Define and own success metrics: search success rate, time-to-decision, result engagement, member trust and satisfaction, and steerage toward higher-value care.

  • Talk to members and customers regularly: understand how people actually navigate care, where search falls short, and what would make them trust a recommendation.

  • Build AI-native specs: focus on the member, the moment, the decision, the experience, and what “good” looks like — so engineering and design can ship against them without translation.

  • Champion member trust: every result and recommendation has a clear rationale and an honest story for uncertainty and edge cases.

Required Experience

  • 4–7 years as a Product Manager, with direct experience shipping at least one of:
  • A search, discovery or ranking product
  • A marketplace or directory product where users compare and choose between options
  • A decision-support or recommendation experience that helps non-experts make complex choices

  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • Consumer UX and the craft of making complex information simple and trustworthy
  • Search and ranking fundamentals: query intent, relevance, filtering, result presentation
  • Experimentation and product analytics: defining metrics, running A/B tests, reading the results
  • Working with data and engineering teams to source and validate the information behind a product

  • Comfortable reasoning about data quality and validating that what users see is correct.

  • Proven ability to set product direction in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

  • Experience operating in an early-stage company; you are comfortable with the pace, ambiguity and ownership that comes with Series A.

  • Experience shipping AI- or ML-powered search, ranking or recommendation features.

  • Strong written communication: You can write a spec that design and engineering can ship against without translation.

Bonus Points

  • Experience with healthcare, benefits or other regulated consumer domains.
  • Experience designing for users making high-stakes, infrequent, emotionally charged decisions.
  • Experience working with benefits consultants, self-funded employers or third-party administrators.

Compensation

The salary ranges from $160,000 - $185,000 , depending on your location, experience, and market conditions. Benefits you'll receive:

  • Employee Stock Options
  • Generous health benefits and 401K matching
  • Flexible paid vacation, parental and medical leave
  • A stipend to help you set up a home office

Location

This role is fully remote but if you are in the LA area, there is an opportunity to work within the Handl office. Travel requirements for this role are limited to infrequent in person meetings with the team.
