Your Role
As Assistant Manager, you'll be a leader on the floor, driving a culture built around hospitality, value-based selling, and exceptional service. You'll coach the team to create loyal members, maximize every guest interaction, and consistently deliver the elevated experience Hammer & Nails is known for.

Key Responsibilities
Lead an Exceptional Guest Experience
- Create an elevated, welcoming environment where every guest feels like a VIP.
- Build lasting relationships with members and first-time guests through authentic hospitality.
- Ensure every visit exceeds expectations from check-in through checkout.
Drive Membership & Retail Sales
- Lead by example in educating guests on memberships, upgrades, retail products, and additional services.
- Coach the team on consultative, value-based selling that focuses on improving the guest experience - not high-pressure sales.
- Identify opportunities to increase membership conversions, retail sales, service upgrades, and guest retention.
- Celebrate sales successes while reinforcing a guest-first culture.
Develop a High-Performing Team
- Partner with ownership to coach, motivate, and develop the team.
- Reinforce service standards, sales behaviors, and accountability through ongoing feedback and recognition.
- Help create a positive, collaborative culture where team members can thrive.
Support Daily Operations
- Assist in managing daily shop operations, scheduling, inventory, cleanliness, and service flow.
- Ensure appointments remain on schedule while maintaining exceptional service quality.
- Support opening and closing procedures and maintain brand standards throughout the shop.
Enhance the Lounge Experience
- Confidently serve beer, cocktails, and other beverages in accordance with responsible serving practices.
- Help create a welcoming social atmosphere that complements our premium grooming services.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and inviting bar area that reflects the Hammer & Nails brand.
Resolve Guest Concerns
- Address guest concerns with professionalism, empathy, and urgency.
- Turn service recovery opportunities into memorable experiences that build long-term loyalty.
What We're Looking For
- Proven success in hospitality, restaurant, bar, hotel, salon, or luxury retail leadership.
- A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate teams to achieve sales goals through value-based selling.
- Experience driving memberships, retail sales, or service upgrades is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
Highly Desired Qualifications
- Experience creating premium hospitality experiences.
- Experience coaching consultative sales techniques.
- Previous experience in membership-based or luxury service businesses.
- Bartending or bar management experience.
- Responsible alcohol service certification (or willingness to obtain).
