The Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Maintenance and Facilities Engineer to ensure the optimal operation of all resort systems and infrastructure. This hands-on position is vital to maintaining our high standards of guest comfort, safety, and satisfaction while preserving the beauty and functionality of our waterfront property.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all resort buildings, grounds, and equipment
• Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and emergency situations
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool systems to ensure proper operation
• Monitor and maintain specialized marine equipment including docks, boat lifts, and waterfront facilities
• Conduct regular property inspections to identify and address potential issues
• Assist with hurricane preparedness and post-storm recovery procedures
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are needed
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and inventory
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards
• Support special events and group functions with appropriate setup and technical assistance

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in hospitality or marine environments
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and pool maintenance systems
• Understanding of saltwater environment challenges and appropriate solutions
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs and documentation
• Ability to use various hand and power tools safely and effectively
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Certification in specialized areas (HVAC, electrical, pool operations) preferred
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations
