This is an exciting opportunity for an organized, self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills seeking to join an A-team. The Director of Finance and Accounting will directly report to the CEO and President and collaborate closely with other senior leaders to ensure the financial health and success of the organization.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree, EA or CPA qualification preferred)
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller or in a senior financial management role within the financial services industry, preferably in wealth management
• Strong knowledge and implementation of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws
• Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
• Experience in business investment strategies and portfolio oversight
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
• Exceptional problem-solving and strategic thinking capabilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including proficiency with Word, Excel, and other computer tools necessary for communication
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and possess the ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Strong business acumen and understanding of the financial services industry

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Financial Strategy:
• Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's long-term goals and objectives
• Contribute to the formulation of business plans, budgets, and financial forecasts
• Controller Responsibilities:
• Develop and enforce robust internal controls to safeguard the company's assets and prevent financial irregularities
• Monitor financial transactions and ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles and regulations
• Accounting:
• Lead the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Provide financial analysis and performance reports to aid in strategic decision-making
• Tax Preparation and Planning:
• Implement all aspects of tax preparation for the firm, its businesses and the personal tax strategies of its owners to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities for the firm and its clients
• Sales and Profit Projections:
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to analyze sales projections, identify trends, and assess the impact on profitability
• Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies and revenue enhancement initiatives
• Bookkeeping:
• Manage in detail and maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll
• Implement efficient bookkeeping procedures to ensure timely expense management and accurate financial reporting
• Investment Oversight:
• Supervise and manage the investment of funds, ensuring alignment with the company's financial objectives and risk tolerance
• Evaluate investment opportunities and provide recommendations based on thorough financial analysis
