POSITION: Deli & Prepared Foods Clerk

STATUS: Full-time or Part-time, Non-exempt

SALARY: $10.00 - $17.00 / hour based on experience and company fit, with growth opportunities.

REPORTS TO: Fresh Manager

Summary: Grubb’s Grocery Deli & Prepared Foods Clerks provide exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a wide variety of fresh foods, stocking grab-and-go cases, and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met. This role supports sales growth through quality service, product knowledge, and maintaining a clean, organized, and positive work environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of one-year industry experience
• An unwavering commitment to world-class customer service, food safety, and quality product
• Openness to work a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to take direction and initiative to follow through on tasks
• Strong organizational skills
• Eagerness to work as part of a team

BASIC JOB DUTIES

• Provide world-class customer service with an upbeat attitude
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold foods, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, wraps, salads, juices, and smoothies
• Prepare food for and stock grab ‘n’ go cases
• Help increase sales and profitability by following procedures, “upselling” products, and minimizing loss 
• Help to check in and keep organized all department products, check expiration dates, and ensure proper rotation
• Follow all state, federal, and store safety, and sanitation procedures, ensuring compliance with Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
• Maintain a safe, clean, and positive work environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 4 hours without a break) 
• Ability to bend, stood, climb ladders, and lift moderate leads unassisted 
• Capability to push and pull carts within the physical requirements of the role 
• Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness, and verify signage/labeling for accuracy
