Job description

We are looking for a highly skilled and self-motivated Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team and drive our technical vision forward. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our backend infrastructure, ensuring it is efficient, scalable, and robust. You will work closely with our Data Science, Data Engineering, and Product teams to deliver best-in-class solutions for our customers.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a small team of Backend and offshore Frontend Engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship
• Develop, deploy, and maintain efficient and scalable backend infrastructure, ensuring it can handle large amounts of data
• Design and implement API endpoints that power the platform, and allow clients to access it directly
• Work closely with the Data Science, Data Engineering, and Product Teams to develop and deploy best-in-class solutions for our customers
• Develop and maintain automated unit tests to ensure the quality and reliability of our code

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a proven track record of delivering robust, scalable, and efficient systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
• Skilled at writing large-scale, distributed backend systems in Python
• Extensive experience building a large-scale cloud-based application
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., ElasticSearch)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong ability to translate business asks into actionable tasks
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with Big Data a huge plus
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, and Docker
• Previous start-up experience
• Familiar with ML/AI, NLP, and Data Science concepts
