Job Title: Brownsville Field Organizer

Location: Brownsville, Texas

Employment Type: Part-Time, Temporary, Non-Exempt

Schedule: Approximately 15-20 hours per week, primarily evenings and weekends

Reports To: Brownsville Field Lead

Pay: $21/hour

Position Duration: Through the November 3, 2026 election

Position Summary

Ground Game Texas is hiring part-time Field Organizers to talk directly with Brownsville voters ahead of the November election.

Field Organizers will primarily work door-to-door in assigned neighborhoods, have conversations with voters using an approved campaign script, distribute campaign literature, and accurately record the results of each voter contact.

This is an active, outdoor position for people who are dependable, comfortable talking with members of the public, and able to work independently while meeting clear field expectations.

Responsibilities

• Knock assigned doors throughout Brownsville
• Speak with voters using the campaign's approved canvassing script
• Distribute campaign literature
• Accurately record voter-contact results using the campaign's canvassing system
• Maintain an expected canvassing pace of approximately 20–25 doors per hour
• Complete assigned turf during scheduled shifts
• Attend required training and pre-shift meetings
• Arrive on time and ready to work for all scheduled shifts
• Follow campaign safety and field procedures
• Take appropriate care of campaign equipment and materials
• Immediately communicate problems or safety concerns to the Field Lead
• Return campaign materials and equipment at the end of each shift
• Participate in campaign events or block walks when assigned
• Perform other campaign-related duties as needed

Qualifications

• Lives in or near Brownsville, Texas
• Reliable and punctual
• Comfortable approaching and speaking with members of the public
• Comfortable walking outdoors for several hours at a time
• Able to use a smartphone and mobile applications
• Able to follow a script and accurately record information
• Available evenings and/or weekends
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable transportation is strongly preferred

No previous campaign experience is required. Training will be provided.

Spanish-English bilingual ability is a plus.

Physical Requirements

This position involves substantial walking and standing outdoors, including walking between homes and throughout residential neighborhoods. Employees may work in heat and other changing weather conditions and may need to carry campaign literature and basic field supplies.
