Assistant Chef will work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen and the delivery of exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Description

Responsibilities:

- Assist the Head Chef in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes according to the menu and recipes provided

- Ensure all food preparation and cooking processes are executed efficiently and in a timely manner

- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients

- Assist in the planning and development of new menu items, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and customer preferences

- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth coordination during service hours

- Monitor food stock levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the Head Chef

- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper handling and storage of food items

- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed

- Stay updated on industry trends and new cooking techniques to continuously improve culinary skills

- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or management team

 

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a line cook, prep cook, or similar role in a professional kitchen

- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment

- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent time management and organizational skills

- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes

- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations

- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
