Description

Position Overview

Greene Thumb is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and execution-focused college student for a project-based internship over winter break.

The intern will help us capture and document how work gets done across our organization, from field-based jobs and daily operations to office and administrative processes.

You will work directly with employees in a variety of roles, interviewing and observing team members to understand their responsibilities, processes, and best practices. You will then turn what you learn into clear, easy-to-follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), checklists, training materials, and short instructional videos.

This is not a traditional internship filled with busywork. You will take ownership of a meaningful company-wide project and create resources that will help Greene Thumb train employees, preserve important knowledge, and improve consistency as the organization grows.

What You'll Do

  • Interview employees in both field and office-based roles to understand their responsibilities and recurring job tasks.
  • Spend time observing employees performing key tasks and processes.
  • Ask questions to capture not only what employees do, but how and why they do it.
  • Develop clear, practical SOPs for field operations, office processes, and individual job responsibilities.
  • Create checklists, quick-reference guides, screenshots, photos, and other supporting training materials.
  • Help organize SOPs and training resources into an easy-to-use company library.
  • Help plan, film, and create short training videos demonstrating important job tasks and processes.
  • Identify areas where processes could be clearer, more consistent, easier to teach, or more efficient.
  • Manage assigned documentation projects from initial employee interview through completed SOP or training resource.
  • Present completed work and recommendations to leadership at the end of the internship.

Who We're Looking For

This opportunity would be a great fit for a student who:

  • Is comfortable talking with people in different roles and asking thoughtful questions.
  • Is curious about how businesses actually operate.
  • Is comfortable spending time in both office and field environments.
  • Has strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Can work independently and take ownership of a project.
  • Is comfortable learning new technology.
  • Notices details and asks questions when something doesn't make sense.
  • Enjoys creating something useful and seeing tangible results from their work.

No previous experience writing SOPs or producing professional videos is required. We're looking for someone who is curious, dependable, organized, and ready to learn.
