Description

Apprentice Level 1 is an entry-level position designed to introduce new apprentices to the electrical trade. The focus is on orientation, safety practices, and building a foundational understanding of tools, equipment, and worksite expectations.

The Level 1 Apprentice works under close supervision and primarily assists electricians by transporting tools, performing basic tasks, and maintaining safe and clean work environments. This stage emphasizes learning through observation and participation in simple assignments while also engaging in classroom or trade school instruction.

Key Responsibilities


  • Basic Task Support (40%) – Transport tools, materials, and equipment; perform simple tasks like measuring, cutting, and assembling conduit.
  • Worksite Maintenance (25%) – Maintain clean and safe work areas.
  • Observation & Learning (20%) – Observe licensed electricians to learn core concepts and best practices.
  • Classroom Instruction (15%) – Participate in trade school and required training programs.

Key Expectations


  • Demonstrates willingness to learn and follow directions.
  • Prioritizes safety and proper use of PPE.

Develops comfort with tools and basic mechanical/mathematical skills.
