Collect food scraps and yard waste throughout greater Milwaukee for composting, and assist in other operations tasks.
Compost Crusader, a Milwaukee based compost company, has been newly acquired by Green Box Compost, a Madison WI based organization dedicated to food scraps collection and recycling. Our goal is to continue Compost Crusader's role in Milwaukee, and increase the positive impact it has on their community.
At Compost Crusader we create a culture around sustainability that empowers individuals and organizations to divert organic material from the landfill in an economically and environmentally sustainable way.
Milwaukee’s landfill is nearing capacity and 30% of what goes to our landfill is food scraps. There is a growing number of establishments like restaurants, hotels, sporting arenas, grocers, and many more including Milwaukee residents that would like to divert food scraps and other food soiled compostable products from the landfill.
Compost Crusader is a dynamic company that serves our customers in the greater Milwaukee area by hauling compostable material to certified DNR compost sites to be processed and recycled into finished compost. This process and these relationships serve to heal the soils in our communities and actively work to address and reduce the build-up of methane gas when food scraps are entombed in our landfills. Compost Crusader also serves as a point of reference in organizing and educating organizations and communities in the realization and attainment of their sustainability and diversion goals.
As a non-CDL driver, you will drive routes collecting compostable organic material and deliver to a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources certified compost site.
