Greater Washington Partnership (the Partnership) is a cross-sector alliance of leading employers in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia committed to championing the region’s economic growth and prosperity. The Partnership is seeking a Fall 2026 intern to support the Economic Growth team. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and has an interest in regional economic growth and development, public-private partnerships, entrepreneurship, and economic data analysis. Candidates should expect to join a team of hard-working and passionate professionals and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, adapting to evolving priorities, and balancing multiple assignments.

 

In 2026, the Partnership released Region Rising Report, our regional economic growth roadmap to drive a future-ready economy. The team is seeking a motivated intern to support execution of the report and contribute to targeted strategic initiatives that advance the region’s growth. The intern will assist in gathering economic insights, supporting research, helping develop programming, and coordinating events and engagement opportunities with external stakeholders and policymakers. Responsibilities will include contributing to programs that support entrepreneurs and innovation through our Next Level accelerator, assisting with collaborative efforts that promote growth across the region, and helping connect the Partnership’s broader body of work to the growth and opportunity agenda.

 

This position is set to start at the end of August / early September (in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays). The ideal candidate would be available for 25-29 hours per week.

 

The selected intern will receive an hourly wage of $20.

 

As an Economic Growth intern, you will:

·      Prepare agendas, stakeholder briefing reports, and meeting summaries for internal/external meetings

·      Conduct research and synthesize findings across a range of issue areas including but not limited to economic growth, procurement, entrepreneurship, and housing

·      Coordinate, schedule, and participate in meetings for internal/external stakeholders, including taking notes and tracking follow-up action items

·      Collaborate with internal teams on cross-functional initiatives including events, marketing, policy, and business development to support Partnership-wide efforts and events

·      Serve as a thought partner on how the Partnership can continue driving meaningful impact through its growth efforts

·      Additional tasks as needed

What We Value

Required

·      Enrolled in an undergraduate program (junior or senior), postgraduate program, or a recent graduate

·      Professionalism and strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills

·      Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

·      Ability to work in a fluid fast-paced start-up environment

·      Proven ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and manage uncertainty

·      Empathetic, proactive team player

·      Deep curiosity about cross sector collaboration and regional economic growth

Preferred

·      Past internship or work-based learning experience

·      Interest in economic development, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, procurement, or affordable housing

·      Creative and resourceful thinker

·      Data analysis and data visualization experience

·      Familiarity with the tri-state area, from Baltimore to Richmond

·      Event support experience
