Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prospect and generate new sales opportunities to create pipeline for the Great Lakes Customer Sales Department.
- Identify how Great Lakes can help potential customers through market intelligence and research.
- Follow the established Great Lakes sales process to manage a high-activity pipeline of leads.
- Prepare timely business quotes, bids, rates, and proposals for prospective customers.
- Gain insight into the customer's or prospect's organization, processes, needs, and wants to better provide solutions.
- Proactively communicate professionally through high-volume phone calls, email, and other channels.
- Utilize technologies like Salesforce, ZoomInfo, and Freight Waves to provide unparalleled customer experiences.
Requirements:
- Minimum two years' experience in a sales role or in the logistics industry
- Negotiation skills with the ability to motivate potential customers
- Possess a “hunter” mentality with the ability to work independently
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Resilient - remain persistent despite challenges and obstacles
- Sound understanding of sales prospecting tactics and strategy
- Great writing and communication skills
