Description

Position Description

We are currently seeking an engaging college counselor with extensive STEM experience to join our team. College counselors report to the Executive Director of Operations and are responsible for managing their meeting schedule with clients. Pending client availability, it is expected that college counselors have the capacity to work with a minimum of 10 students per graduating class. Counselors are asked to designate availability by graduation class and commit to guiding their clients through high school graduation. While we strive to provide consistent service across our team, there is a high level of autonomy in this role. We ask for exceptional integrity and professionalism from our staff with their commitments.

This is a part-time position with excellent opportunities for growth (including full-time management roles); hours depend on client load and the scope of client work we receive. Most counseling sessions are held remotely; however, there is an expectation of in-person meeting availability if a client is within the counselor’s radius of travel. Counselors should expect to work during after-school and weekend hours to accommodate students’ academic and extracurricular schedules. Duties include but are not limited to: brainstorming and editing essays, developing college lists, meeting with students and parents, reviewing transcripts, writing session reports, suggesting extracurricular and summer activities, guiding students through college interviews, and other projects as assigned, such as webinars and presentations. While this is a part-time position, we expect full-time effort and dedication to your students when you are working!
