Are you a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist looking for a unique role that blends clinical work with administrative and leadership responsibilities? Join our small but dedicated team as an SLP / Professional Development Coordinator and play an integral part in our mission to elevate the standards of speech-language therapy. This hybrid role combines hands-on client care with the dynamic responsibilities of helping to manage SLP Nerdcast, a podcast dedicated to evidence-based practice in our field.
About the Role: In this position, you’ll split your time between a fulfilling pediatric caseload and overseeing the professional development resources offered through our practice. Your schedule will be 50-60% clinical productivity, working with pediatric clients in community settings to provide high-quality, personalized care. In addition to clinical responsibilities, you’ll help manage the operations of SLP Nerdcast, including episode coordination, staff management, post production and publication, guest speaker coordination, and contributing to our commitment to ASHA-approved continuing education.
This position offers room to grow, with the potential for advancement to a Director-level role as our practice continues to expand.
- At least 5 years experience in pediatrics (required)
- Licensed in the state of MA (required)
- Certification of Clinical Competence, Background check and valid driver's license (required)
- Interest in non-clinical writing
- Leadership or project management experience (preferred)
- AAC experience (preferred)
- Comfort with technology and using a variety of software systems (preferred)
- Detail oriented
- Independence, flexibility, and a passion for speech language pathology.
- Familiarity with the speech language pathology evidence-based practice process.
- Familiarity with the PD landscape in speech language pathology
- Interested in evidence-based practices within the field of SLP
Job description and responsibilities:

Clinical Services: 60% of this position will be spent providing clinical services to children and families in the Worcester area. In this capacity roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conducting speech and language evaluations
- Providing speech and language consultation and intervention services
- Conducting AAC Evaluations
- Providing AAC consultation and intervention services
- Creating treatment and therapy plans
- Educating and counseling patients and family members
- Collaborating with other professionals as needed

Continuing Education Management: 40% of this position will be spent managing the professional development division within GTC, called SLP Nerdcast. In this capacity roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing and supporting existing SLP Nerdcast staff
- Managing / coordinating the publication of all podcast episodes
- Managing / coordinating SLP Nerdcast audience communications (monthly newsletter, social media channels, customer service requests)
- Managing / coordinating podcast publication software and website
- Working closely with podcast hosts, owners, and founders
- Managing / coordinating live events, as needed
- Managing / coordinating GTC’s relationship with the American Speech and Hearing Association and Fitchburg State University
- The balance of these roles may shift over time.
