We're looking for an ambitious, energetic Sales Director to join our team at Grand Leisure, an industry-leading supplier of outdoor patio furniture, accessories, and solar lighting in the North American mass retail market. Focused primarily on steel, aluminum, and resin wicker outdoor furniture and accessories, we produce for most of the mass market and home improvement retailers in the United States and Canada.
This position will be responsible for driving revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability while building and maintaining strong relationships with key retail partners.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who is located or willing to relocate to the Charlotte, NC area to best fulfill our account needs but will consider well qualified applicants located outside of this area. Primary Responsibilities
Develop and Execute Sales Strategy:
- Create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth and profitability within assigned retailers.
- Lead the development of account strategies and annual operational plans in alignment with company goals and timelines.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and financial plans to meet sales targets.
- Manage P&L for the business across customer accounts, demonstrating strong financial acumen and managing account P&L levers.
- Utilize category and consumer insights to build customer-centric recommendations for sales growth.
Account Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners, including buyers, VP/DMM, and cross-functional teams.
- Lead day-to-day interactions with customers to ensure smooth execution of category plans.
- Oversee the execution of annual summits, trade shows, and line reviews at the category level.
- Lead and drive promotional and pricing strategies to secure optimal product placement and maximize sales.
Drive Revenue Growth:
- Identify new business opportunities and negotiate favorable terms to maximize revenue within the mass retail segment.
- Track sales performance, adjust plans as needed, and leverage consultative selling to create win-win solutions for customer and category growth.
- Expand product assortments and drive distribution efficiencies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business trends and tactics for growth.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally:
- Work closely with internal teams (marketing, product development, finance, and supply chain) to align product availability, pricing, and marketing strategies with sales objectives.
- Develop strong partnerships to lead omni-channel/dropship business plans.
- Manage operational disciplines, such as sales forecasting and supply planning with customers.
Optimize Promotional & Content Management:
- Collaborate with marketing to develop targeted promotional campaigns and ensure in-store execution to maximize ROI.
- Work with marketing teams to optimize content creation and explore innovative digital opportunities.
Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze and report on sales performance data, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Track plan progress and adjust strategies as necessary to meet sales objectives.
Monitor Market Trends and Industry Innovation:
- Analyze market conditions, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
- Stay informed about retail technologies, digital commerce trends, and omni-channel strategies to keep the company competitive.
- Use data and competitive analysis to maximize market share, sales, and margin.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in sales management, with a focus on retail partnerships and strategy execution.
- 5+ Years experience in a Sales/ Account Management Role.
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to manage P&L and other financial levers.
- Excellent relationship-building skills and experience working with key retail partners and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to drive sales growth through strategic account management, promotional strategies, and product expansion.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze sales performance and market trends to adjust strategies.
- Experience in omni-channel/dropship business planning is a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Creative, collaborative, and detail-oriented
- Prior outdoor furnishing industry and/or mass retailer experience a plus!
