About Gordon Law Group, Ltd.

Gordon Law Group is an award-winning Chicago law firm focusing on 4 core service areas: Tax Compliance, Tax Controversy, Corporate Law, and Cryptocurrency Law.

Description

About us

Gordon Law Group is a Chicago-area tax, business, and cryptocurrency law firm. Gordon Tax is our tax preparation and accounting firm. Digital Asset Tax is our education and advocacy brand focused on how digital assets are taxed. Together they share one marketing team, one content engine, and one standard: make complicated tax and legal topics clear, useful, and worth following.

Our audience includes crypto investors, business owners, people facing IRS problems, and policymakers.

The role

You will run day-to-day social media for all three brands: writing the posts, building and maintaining the social calendar, scheduling through Buffer, engaging with the community, keeping our creative asset library organized, and reporting on what works. You will turn our long-form content (YouTube videos, articles, webinars, Andrew's testimony and media appearances) into platform-native posts, and you will write original short copy of your own.

This is a writing job first and a scheduling job second. If you can take a 20-minute attorney video and pull five posts out of it that each sound like a person, not a firm, you will do well here.

What you will do

  • Calendar. Own a rolling 4-week social calendar for Gordon Law Group, Gordon Tax, and Digital Asset Tax across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X, and YouTube community posts, tailored to each platform's format and audience.
  • Copywriting. Write post copy, captions, hooks, and thread text. Repurpose articles, videos, and webinar clips into platform-native posts. Draft Google Business Profile posts weekly.
  • Production. Schedule and publish through Buffer with an approval step. Request clips, thumbnails, and edits from our videographer, and build simple graphics in Canva within brand guidelines.
  • Asset management. Keep the shared creative library in order: clear file naming, one folder structure across all three brands, approved versions marked, source files and exports kept together, and nothing lives only on your desktop.
  • Community and reviews. Monitor comments, messages, mentions, and Google and Yelp reviews daily. Respond directly and promptly within brand guidelines, thank reviewers, and route anything that looks like a legal or tax question about someone's situation to the right person rather than answering it yourself.
  • Reporting. Track reach, engagement, follower growth, and link clicks by brand and platform. Deliver a short monthly readout with three things to keep doing and three to change.
  • Compliance. Keep every post inside Illinois attorney advertising rules and our internal term list. Apply the correct disclaimer per platform. Flag anything you are unsure about before it posts.
  • Trend watch. Keep an eye on crypto tax news, IRS announcements, and what competitors are posting. Bring timely ideas to the weekly content meeting.

What you bring

Required

  • 1 to 3 years running organic social for a brand, agency, or creator, with examples you can show.
  • Strong writing and editing. You can make a dense topic short and clear without making it wrong.
  • Working knowledge of LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Facebook, and YouTube, including native formats (carousels, Reels, threads, community posts).
  • Hands-on with Buffer (or a close equivalent you can pick up fast) and Canva.
  • Strong file organization and creative asset management habits. You keep naming conventions, folder structures, and version control tidy so anyone on the team can find the right file.
  • Organized and self-directed. You keep a calendar full four weeks out without being chased.
  • Careful with facts. Anything you are not sure of gets checked or flagged, not posted.

Nice to have

  • Experience in a regulated industry (legal, financial services, healthcare, insurance) where copy goes through approval.
  • Interest in cryptocurrency, tax, or policy. You do not need to be an investor, but you should be curious.
  • Experience with HubSpot or another CRM for tracking social-sourced leads.

How we work

  • Weekly content planning meeting with the Marketing Director and videographer.
  • Every post is drafted in the calendar, approved by the Marketing Director, then scheduled. Posts that make claims about the firm, results, or the law get an attorney check first.
  • Internal communication runs on Google Workspace and Google Chat.
  • We measure the role on consistency (calendar always full, nothing posts late), quality (copy that people engage with), and zero compliance misses.

What you will gain

You will build a portfolio across three distinct brands in a niche where very few marketers have real depth: crypto taxation and IRS enforcement. You will work directly with attorneys and CPAs who are shaping federal policy, learn how compliant marketing works in a regulated industry, and have room to launch content series of your own. The marketing team is small, so good ideas get built.
