Summary
Prepares foodstuffs for consumption in eating establishments and also serves food and beverages to patrons seated at tables or at the counter in pool area by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Takes food and beverage orders and prepares items for customer.
Computes bill and accepts payment.
Takes orders for and serves drinks, light meals and/or snack items.
Requests identification from customers when legal age is questioned or required.
Adjusts thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, steam kettles, or other kitchen equipment.
Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe to prepare foods and or drinks.
Prepares bread, rolls, or other baked goods.
Removes empty or dirty glasses and bottles and returns them to the proper area for cleaning.
Checks and cleans restrooms as needed.
Empties trash and containers and properly disposes of items in dumpster.
Understands and applies Serve-Safe sanitation standards.

Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of POS software. Must also use payroll – timekeeping software and email software.
