Some people make a room feel calmer and more organized the moment they walk in. If that's you, we'd like to meet you — no legal experience required.
THE WELCOMING FACE OF A RESPECTED FIRM
Golden Oaks Law Group has guided Inland Empire families through estate planning, trusts, and probate for nearly three decades. For many of our clients, they come to us during one of the hardest seasons of their lives — and the first face they see belongs to the person at our front desk. We're looking for a warm, dependable, detail-loving person to be that face and to keep our office running smoothly behind the scenes.
This is not a "sit and answer phones" job — our intake specialist handles most incoming calls. It's an in-person reception and office-support role for someone who takes real pride in a welcoming lobby and an impeccably organized office. We're happy to train the right person.
ABOUT THE ROLE
You'll be the first person clients see when they walk through our doors — greeting them warmly, making them feel welcome and cared for, and getting them where they need to be. Between visitors, you'll keep the office organized and running: maintaining client files and records, handling mail and scanning, and the general clerical work that keeps a busy firm on track. You'll also back up the phones when call volume spikes. This is a full-time, in-person role at our Upland office.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY TO DAY
Be our in-person first impression
- Warmly greet every client and visitor — you set the tone for the entire firm, especially for clients navigating loss or stress.
- Check in appointments and keep the lobby and conference rooms clean, welcoming, and client-ready.
Keep files and records in order
- Organize and maintain client files — physical and digital — so nothing is ever lost or misfiled.
- Keep records accurate, complete, and up to date.
Handle clerical and office support
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, scanning, copying, and document handling.
- Use quieter front-desk periods to stay ahead on the general clerical work that keeps the office running smoothly.
Back up the phones
- Cover incoming calls when our intake specialist is unavailable or call volume is high — taking accurate, complete messages and routing them promptly.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE (FIRST 90 DAYS)
- Every client is greeted warmly and feels genuinely welcomed the moment they arrive.
- Files and records are accurate and well-organized; mail, scanning, and clerical work are consistently handled without being chased.
- Phones are covered smoothly whenever you're needed as backup.
- Leadership stops thinking about the front desk — because it simply works.
WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR
- You take pride in being dependable — you're the steady, reliable backbone of a busy office.
- You're warm with people — you bring genuine empathy and make others feel at ease.
- You're organized and detail-oriented — accurate records and a tidy, well-run office are satisfying to you.
- You're coachable — feedback makes you better, not defensive, and you're glad to be trained.
- You're a self-starter — in downtime, you look for what needs doing instead of waiting to be told.
- Experience? Not needed. Recent grads, career-changers, and people from hospitality, retail, or admin with the right attitude are all encouraged to apply.
WHO THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR
In fairness to everyone, this probably isn't the right fit if:
- You see reception as a temporary stop rather than work you take pride in.
- Detail-heavy record-keeping and clerical work drain you rather than satisfy you.
- You prefer to do only what's explicitly assigned and would leave downtime idle.
- You're looking for rapid promotion — this is a stable, settled role with gradual growth, not a fast ladder.
- You want remote or hybrid work — this is fully in-person in Upland.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Pay: $17.00 - $24.00 / hr
- Schedule: Full-time, in-person, Monday–Friday, standard business hours at our Upland office.
- Benefits: Health coverage, paid holidays, paid time off, and retirement plan participation.
- Room to grow: Opportunity to become the senior/lead front-desk professional and to cross-train into other administrative and office-support functions or paralegal over time.
WHY GOLDEN OAKS
- Stability that's rare — nearly 30 years serving the Inland Empire. This is a place to settle in, not a gamble.
- Work that matters — you help families through some of life's most important and difficult moments.
- A real culture — our I-PEACE values (Integrity, People First, Excellence in Action, Always Improving, Client Experience, and Efficiency with Grace) are how we actually operate.
- A respected seat — the front desk is treated as essential here, with room to grow into a senior front-desk role and cross-train into other office functions over time.
