Position Overview:

We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with estate planning, trust and estate litigation, probate, and related legal matters. This position offers direct client interaction, legal research, and courtroom representation.


Essential functions

  • Client Relations: Meet with clients to understand their needs.
  • Drafting and Design: Design tailored estate plans, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives. Draft, review, and finalize estate planning documents with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Discovery- Conduct discovery, including interrogatories, depositions, and requests for production of documents.
  • Court Hearings- Attend court hearings and represent clients in court.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues on complex estate planning strategies, including tax planning and asset protection.
  • Ethical Conduct: Adhere to the highest ethical standards in all aspects of practice.
  • Education and Development: Maintain updated knowledge of relevant laws and continuously pursue professional development opportunities.
  • Core Values: Demonstrate and uphold Golden Oaks Law Group's core values in all client interactions and case handling.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of attorney experience.
  • Skills: Strong drafting, organizational, and client communication skills, with a client-first mindset.
  • Credentials: Licensed to practice law in California; a strong academic background is preferred.
  • Case Management: Demonstrated ability to supervise and manage other team members, delegate effectively, problem-solve, prioritize work, manage time, and organize tasks effectively
  • Communication: Proficient communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to effectively research, read, interpret, and organize information with accuracy and consistency
  • Notary: Licensed Notary Public a plus, but not required.

Work Schedule

  • This is a full-time position with standard hours of work being Monday through Friday, 8:15AM to 5:15PM with occasional evening and weekend work required as business needs and job duties demand
  • A reliable means of travel/transportation to and from company office(s) is expected
  • Occasionally, out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected


Work Environment

This role operates in a professional office environment with use of standard office equipment (e.g., computers, internet, phones, filing cabinets)


Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer workstation.
  • Extended periods of focus and concentration to ensure accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Occasional lifting of files, boxes, or other materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
