Core Responsibilities
Inventory, Purchasing & Product Operations [40–50%]
- Manage purchasing pipeline: forecast needs, schedule production, place orders, and receive goods.
- Conduct weekly inventory audits to prevent out-of-stock situations and maintain optimal levels.
- Audit incoming products for quality, discrepancies, or damage; file reports and determine next steps.
- Prepare products for retail and e-commerce launch: fill out listings, align pricing, print barcodes, and ensure brand-standard presentation.
- Maintain accurate operational documentation and cross-functional communication.
Retail Store Operations & Leadership [35–40%]
- Maintain visual merchandising standards, seasonal transitions, and product placement.
- Conduct regular store walkthroughs, identify improvements, and implement changes.
- Act as Manager on Duty: provide floor leadership, delegate tasks, resolve issues, and support daily store operations.
- Train retail team members on operational procedures, expectations, and customer experience standards.
- Monitor the customer service inbox during weekends and escalate urgent issues as needed.
- Provide sales floor coverage, check-ins, and ensure completion of operational checklists.
Team & Operational Coordination [15–20%]
- Manage staff scheduling and related communications to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Prepare weekly operational reports and planning materials for leadership.
- Coordinate Charm Bar reservations, retail supplies, and inventory updates.
- Collaborate with the Customer Service team on issues that arise during retail operations, ensuring seamless handoffs.
- Support seasonal changes, markdowns, and market prep as needed.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in retail operations, inventory management, or purchasing.
- Experience with Shopify POS, e-commerce platforms, and Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
- Affinity for learning product knowledge and understanding consumer behavior.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with artisan or creative products, retail, or wholesale operations.
- Familiarity with Etsy, Faire, or other online marketplaces.
- Experience in a high-volume, small-business, or fast-paced retail environment.
