Glow Midwifery PLLC Medical Assistant Gilbert, AZ · Full time

Join Glow as a full-time Medical Assistant supporting patient care, clinic flow, and the day-to-day needs of a small women's health practice.

About Glow Midwifery PLLC

Glow Midwifery is a small, concierge midwifery practicing offering full-scope care with births in the hospital. It is midwife-owned and run, and is located in Gilbert, Arizona.

Description

Glow is a small, locally owned women's health practice in Gilbert, and we're looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team.

We're looking for someone who is excellent with patients, dependable in the clinical details, and is comfortable pitching in, solving problems, and helping wherever the day needs them.

About Glow

Glow provides personalized obstetric, gynecologic, and wellness care in a warm, modern outpatient setting. We intentionally keep our practice small enough that patients are known by name and team members have a meaningful role in how the practice runs.

About the role

As our Medical Assistant, you'll be an important part of keeping the clinical day running smoothly. You'll room patients, support our providers, handle labs and specimens, keep clinical supplies organized, and keep the day flowing.

You'll work alongside our clinic RN, who handles IV therapy and other nursing responsibilities.

We're especially interested in someone who is comfortable with phlebotomy or excited to become excellent at it.

Because Glow is a small practice, this role also has more variety than a traditional MA position. On a slower clinic day, you might help prepare for an event or capture a quick photo or video for social media. If you like feeling valued, learning new things, and being part of a small team where your contribution genuinely matters, you may love it here.

What you'll do

Patient care

  • Room patients and obtain vital signs
  • Update medical, surgical, obstetric, medication, and allergy histories
  • Complete intake screenings and document accurately in the electronic health record
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures
  • Chaperone and assist providers during exams and procedures
  • Administer injections as ordered and within your scope
  • Review provider instructions and follow-up plans with patients

Labs and procedures

  • Draw blood and process lab specimens (optional but preferred)
  • Collect urine, swab, and other specimens
  • Perform point-of-care testing such as pregnancy testing and urinalysis
  • Label, package, and prepare specimens for outside laboratories
  • Maintain required testing and quality-control logs
  • Set up and assist with in-office gynecologic procedures
  • Clean and sterilize instruments according to clinic protocols

Keeping the clinic running

  • Clean and restock exam rooms
  • Monitor clinical supplies, medications, and expiration dates
  • Assist with inventory and ordering
  • Route medical records, orders, and patient messages
  • Maintain routine clinical logs and documentation
  • Help keep the office clean, organized, stocked, and ready for patients
  • Notice problems and help solve them rather than waiting for someone else to do it

Being part of a small business

From time to time, you may also help with things like:

  • Community markets and Glow events
  • Office organization or special projects
  • Photos or short videos for social media
  • Preparing materials or supplies
  • Seasonal projects and clinic improvements
  • Whatever small things help our team and practice have a great day

You do not need experience in all of these areas. We're looking for someone who approaches new things with a willing attitude.

We'd love to meet you if you are

  • Warm and comfortable talking with patients
  • Organized and attentive to details
  • Reliable and able to work independently
  • Comfortable in a busy outpatient clinic
  • Someone who notices what needs to be done
  • Flexible when priorities change
  • Happy working closely with a small team
  • Interested in women's health
  • Comfortable balancing clinical responsibilities with the occasional non-clinical project

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant training or relevant healthcare experience
  • Experience documenting in an electronic health record
  • Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain it shortly after hire

Especially helpful

  • Phlebotomy skills certification
  • OB/GYN or women's health experience
  • Experience with Athena EMR
  • Experience assisting with outpatient procedures
  • Comfort with social media, events, hospitality, retail, or another customer-focused environment

Schedule

This is a full-time, in-person position averaging 36 hours per week.

Monday through Thursday: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Occasional community events outside regular clinic hours may be available or requested with advance notice.

Benefits

  • Paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Employee discounts
  • Predictable daytime schedule
  • Friday afternoons off
