Glidance, Inc. Field Representative & Community Specialist Remote · Contractor Company website

We are seeking a Field Representative & Community Specialist to lead Glide's in-person Demo Days and events across North America, starting mid-September.

About Glidance, Inc.

Glidance is an autonomous technology company building the future of robotics and intelligent wayfinding to serve real human needs. Our flagship product, Glide, is the world's first Intelligent Guide for individuals who are blind or have low vision — a new category of personal robot that enables millions of people to get out of their homes and navigate more confidently, safely, and independently. If you're looking for a place where groundbreaking technology meets real-world impact, and where your work defines a category rather than iterates upon it, then Glidance is where you belong. This is not just your next job: it is your chance to make a life-changing impact on millions around the world.

Description

About the Role

As part of Glide’s much awaited rollout, Glidance will be hosting in-person “demo days” and events across North America starting this October, bringing the device directly to blind and low vision communities across the continent for hands-on demos and experiences.

We are looking for a Field Representative & Community Specialist to join one or two other Glidance team members on the road, visiting up to 15 cities for two-day sessions hosted by local organizations that serve the blind and low vision community. You'll present our product, field questions, and work hands-on alongside Orientation and Mobility (O&M) professionals and potential customers as they try Glide for the first time.

Start Date: Mid-September 2026

What You'll Do

  • Travel with the Glidance team across North America for multi-day demo sessions and community events at partner venues, representing Glidance’s brand, values, mission and product
  • Present Glide to groups and answer questions from attendees, partners, and press
  • Guide attendees through physical Glide demos with the goal of converting interest into sales
  • Adapt Glide demos for users with varying mobility
  • Train and coach local staff at each partner organization to run demos independently after the visit
  • Troubleshoot device issues on-site, escalating to and coordinating with the engineering team as needed
  • Use additional time in each location to walk local streets with Glide and collect new data for our AI learning models.
  • Think on your feet and adapt to different audiences, venues, and unexpected situations
  • Report back to the team with findings, feedback, and takeaways from each event

What We're Looking For

  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively and stay flexible with changing schedules and locations
  • Energetic, patient, and comfortable connecting both one-on-one and with groups
  • Experiencing with in-person training, teaching, or coaching
  • Comfortable with hands-on tech — able to troubleshoot in the moment and communicate clearly with engineering when something needs a closer look
  • Quick thinker who can represent Glidance well in unscripted, in-person moments
  • Genuine empathy for people with disabilities and a real desire to be part of the mission
  • Strong communication skills across a range of audiences — from first-time users to trained professionals

Highly Desired

  • Experience with assistive technology, Orientation & Mobility training, vocational rehabilitation, or direct service with the blind and low vision community
  • Background in sales, field marketing, or customer-facing product demos

Ideal Candidate

You are energized by helping people unlock their potential and guiding them to experience something new. You care deeply about the people you serve, and you're motivated by work that meaningfully improves their lives. Experience working with accessibility or serving people with disabilities, as well as experience with physical product demos, is a strong plus. You are not there to "sell", but to give individuals an experience that allows them to evaluate if Glide is the right mobility tool for them.

Why This Role Matters

For our users, Glide is not a gadget — it's a path to greater independence. As our Field Representative & Community Specialist, you will in many cases be their first contact with our brand and our product, and will play a truly critical role in their journey.

Compensation commensurate with experience.
