About gin design group
gin design group is an award-winning hospitality design firm dedicated to creating immersive and inspiring spaces that elevate guest experiences. We are seeking a talented Project Designer to join our dynamic team and contribute to the creation of world-class hospitality environments.
Ready to see how unforgettable hospitality spaces actually get made? As a Design Intern at Gin Design Group, you won’t just be grabbing coffee, you’ll be a vital part of the creative engine. You’ll collaborate with our team, clients, and local artisans to sketch, mood-board, and execute spaces that tell a story. If you have a fierce eye for detail, a passion for hospitality, and want to learn the ins and outs of project coordination in a fast-paced studio, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Experience & Learn
- Hands-On Design Development: Work side-by-side with our senior team to transform raw ideas into reality. You’ll actively contribute to concept creation, curate tactile mood boards, and help craft the compelling presentations we share with clients.
- The Art of Sourcing & Specifying: Dive into our design library and vendor network to source materials, custom finishes, and unique furnishings. You will learn how to balance high-end aesthetic vision with the realities of client budgets and project constraints.
- Real-World Project Logistics: Get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to get a space built. You will shadow the creation of technical design documentation—including drawings, specification decks, and schedules—and learn how we coordinate with local artisans, architects, and vendors to keep massive projects on track.
- Trend Tracking & Industry Research: Keep your finger on the pulse of the hospitality world. You’ll research emerging global design trends, innovative materials, and new technologies to pitch fresh ideas and inspire our next major project.
- Studio Operations & Library Curation: Learn the business side of running a busy boutique agency. You will gain a foundational understanding of design management by maintaining our physical sample library, keeping files organized, coordinating schedules, and helping the studio manager handle daily operational needs.
- Behind-the-Scenes at Photoshoots: See how finished spaces are captured for media and publication. You’ll get hands-on experience helping coordinate logistics, style spaces, and manage the administrative details that make a professional architectural photoshoot successful.
What We Are Looking For
- Educational Background: Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Interior Design or Architecture.
- Technical Toolkit: Proficiency in Revit is highly preferred for drafting and modeling. Familiarity with Sketch Up & Google Workspace is a major plus.
- genuine interest in the hospitality industry: you love restaurants, hotels, and bars, and you're fascinated by how public spaces shape human experiences.
- Strong attention to detail, a sharp aesthetic sense, and a love for organizing (our materials library will thank you!).
- You are a self-starter who isn't afraid to ask questions, jump into a variety of tasks, and take initiative in a fast-paced studio environment.
- Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with our internal team, local artisans, and vendors.
