About Gigantic

Gigantic is an independent New York film company built by filmmakers for filmmakers. We develop, produce and finish award-recognized films, documentaries and television for some of the world's leading storytellers.

We're looking for an enthusiastic, culturally curious and digitally savvy Junior Marketing, Communications and Sales Assistant to help develop Gigantic's growing profile across the film and entertainment industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Social Media: Manage and develop Gigantic's presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, Google and other relevant platforms, including content planning, posting, community engagement and maintaining a consistent brand voice.
  • Digital Profiles: Maintain and update company and team profiles across IMDb, industry directories, websites and other digital platforms.
  • Mailing Lists & CRM: Build, manage and segment contact databases for filmmakers, producers, clients, journalists and industry partners; assist with newsletters and email campaigns.
  • SEO & Website: Support search engine optimization, website updates, keyword research and improvements to Gigantic's online visibility.
  • Events & Partnerships: Assist with screenings, filmmaker events, festival activations and Gigantic's ongoing partnerships with the Woodstock Film Festival, DOC NYC and The Diversity & Inclusion Film Festival (DIFF).
  • Research & Analytics: Monitor social media, website and campaign performance; produce simple reports and identify opportunities to improve engagement, reach and brand awareness.
  • PR & Communications: Support press announcements, media outreach, content creation and other marketing initiatives across both businesses.

The Successful Candidate

We're open to candidates from marketing, public relations, media, communications, or film-related backgrounds, including recent graduates and early-career professionals.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer, organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently. We're particularly interested in someone with genuine cultural curiosity, an enthusiasm for independent cinema and documentary, and the instinct to recognize an interesting story and communicate it compellingly.

They should understand that good marketing is more than simply posting on social media. It's about building relationships, strengthening reputation, engaging audiences, and supporting the company's wider creative and commercial ambitions.

Experience with tools such as Canva, Google Analytics, email marketing platforms or website content management systems would be advantageous, but not essential.

Working Arrangements

This is a paid, flexible, part-time position of approximately 15 to 20 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours during major events, festivals and campaign periods. The role can be performed predominantly remotely, but candidates should live within a reasonable travelling distance of New York City and be available for occasional in-person meetings, screenings and industry events.

Why Gigantic?

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across public relations, digital marketing, brand development and the film industry, working directly with an established independent creative company.

The successful candidate will contribute to real campaigns, filmmaker relationships, festival partnerships and the ongoing development of Gigantic's identity and reputation. There is scope for the role to grow as the company and its communications activities expand.
