Position Description

We are seeking a dependable and motivated Registered Spray Technician to join our team. The spray technician will perform all of the necessary chemical applications to all landscape areas. This is hourly position working 35+ hours during a regular work week schedule (Monday-Friday and weekends if necessary).

Pay Range: $22-26/hour, depending on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Identification: Includes recognizing insects and insect damage, fungus and fungus damage, all types of weeds, all types of turf, shrubs and trees.
  • Application: Includes making sure to have an appropriately calibrated spray machine to apply the mixed chemicals at the appropriate rate to treat the grass for the appropriate type of weeds. As well as, apply fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, and other turf-care products according to label requirements and company procedures. Follow all OSHA, EPA, state, and local regulations regarding pesticide and fertilizer applications.
  • Mixing: Includes identifying the appropriate chemical(s) to use and mixing the correct amount for the application. As well as the ability to load, transport, and apply products using spray equipment and other application tools.
  • Application Logs: Maintain accurate records of applications, products used, and customer properties.
  • Operating Vehicles & Equipment: Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as trucks, trucks with trailers, 2-cycle power equipment or mobile sprayer.
  • Technology: The ability to use a tablet, phone or other electronic device.
  • Inspections: Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety issues.
  • Work Conditions: Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Miscellaneous: Perform other lawn-care duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Previous turf, landscaping, lawn-care, or pesticide application experience preferred. We are willing to train the right candidate.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required pesticide applicator certification/license.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry equipment and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions and product labels.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Good communication and customer-service skills.
  • Willingness to work outdoors for extended periods.
