Position Summary

The Professional Level 5 (PL5) Systems Engineer is responsible for strategic planning, technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and mission analyses for customer systems.


Responsibilities

  • Analyses are performed at all levels of system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contribute to the development of new principles and concepts.
  • Provide highly innovative solutions to unusually complex technical problems.
  • Develop advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product.
  • Serve as organization spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs.
  • Act as advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research studies and applications.
  • Contribute to the development of technical proposals. Serve as a subject matter expert during proposal reviews.


Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Master’s degree in the field of engineering, physics, or computer science. PhD is preferred.
  • 20 years of technical leadership experience in scientific research and development.
  • Extensive Systems Engineering experience
  • Active TS/SCI with CT poly
  • Thorough understanding of RF theory, electro-optics, and/or signal processing.
  • Vendor/Customer relations and negotiation skills/experience.
