Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for Genesis House and Leighty House guests, our board of directors, and the public
  • Answer phones, direct calls, and provide warm, caring, and friendly assistance to callers
  • Maintain and update online calendars for facility events, staff schedules, and community gatherings
  • Coordinate with our property manager and other staff to schedule maintenance and repairs for our housing facilities
  • Assist with receiving and documenting in-kind donations from generous community members
  • Compile, print, and distribute Genesis Garden publications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail
  • Manage our social media accounts and website, keeping our online presence vibrant and engaging
  • Maintain directories of staff and board members, ensuring all contact information is up to date
  • Safeguard the privacy of our guests by maintaining confidential files and records
  • Manage inventory of office supplies and place orders as needed within budget guidelines
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail with efficiency and attention to detail


  • Dedication to the belief that housing is a human right and a commitment to helping others live their best life
  • Lived expertise or previous experience or knowledge related to homelessness, housing instability, recovery, public benefits, low income, chronic health conditions or similar preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and warm, positive, caring, and friendly interactions with all personality types
  • Reliability, demonstrated follow-through, independent and collaborative work experience
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including the Google Suite, databases, Excel, and other office software
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with demonstrated follow-through and attention to detail
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
