Remote internship
The Communications and Development Intern supports Generations For Peace USA in identifying and researching media outlets, influencers, thought leaders, and prospective funders to fuel its global growth; summarizing and updating information on these potential communications and development partners in a database and in briefings; and creating communications and development materials, such as social media content, and online and print appeals. We strive to provide interns with substantive, rewarding assignments that match their interests. This position is an exciting opportunity to learn how a growing national organization develops communications and development content and raises support to sustain its operations around the country, and build practical communications and development skills needed for success in the non-profit sector.

KRTs may be revised as needed to reflect new opportunities, and target deadlines will be mutually agreed upon for each of the tasks and sub-tasks under them.

Generations For Peace USA Values
We believe in the growth of peaceful societies through:
Generations For Peace USA is a 501(c)3 organization with roots in international peacebuilding and development. We were founded in November 2012 by Generations For Peace (GFP HQ), an acclaimed global peacebuilding organization headquartered in Jordan.
Today, we are comprised of a small, skilled US-based team representing diverse identities, geographies, industries, and lived experiences from across the country. We are united in our shared commitment to apply GFP’s global model to bridge divides, strengthen communities, and build peace in the USA. In 2019, we began programming in Chicago and opened an office in Washington, DC. In 2020, we relocated our US headquarters to Nashville, TN, where we are based today.
Generations For Peace USA has ambitious plans for growth and impact in the coming year. We are looking for talented and passionate people to join us in writing the next chapter of GFP’s story in the United States. We believe a more just and peaceful world is possible now and for future generations, and we desire to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice through our work.
Generations For Peace USA Programs
People in the United States are seeking a way out of division and cycles of violence. There is a historic opportunity and demand to overcome divides and work together on issues affecting our lives and communities. We believe GFP’s model can help reduce these issues of division and violence by bringing people together to bridge divides, strengthen communities, and build peace.
Our work in communities across the United States aligns with one or more thematic priorities: civic engagement and youth leadership, bridge building, and/or violence prevention. We use a variety of tools, including sport, arts, advocacy, dialogue, empowerment, and media. In the next year, we intend to scale our programs to new communities across the USA and beyond.
