This position is responsible for inspection, non-conformance handling and investigation, corrective action, ISO implementation and development, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Description

Duties and Tasks:

This list of duties and responsibilities are not all – inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.

· Support the Quality Manager in ensuring safe work environment and practices within the organization.

· Performs part and process inspection to ensure compliance.

o  Includes first article inspection, 2nd checks, in-process inspection, random audits, etc.

· Modify work instructions as needed.

· Assists with ISO audits and document development and maintenance of the ISO system.

· Assists with training and development of personnel.

· Support projects to ensure key Quality Objective metrics are achieved.   

· Support manufacturing in eliminating the following types of waste (DOWNTIME):

o Defects

o Overproduction

o Waiting

o Non-utilized talent

o Excess processing

· Other tasks as assigned by Quality Manager and/or management.

Education / Experience

· Minimum of High School graduate or equivalent.

· Computer Experience (Word, Excel).

· Quality Control (QC) experience helpful.

 

Language Skills

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.

· Ability to accurately record inspection results on required documents and summarize results including reworks and waste.

· Ability to inspect products and verify adherence to standards using required inspection equipment.

· Able to communicate effectively with employees, office personnel and management.

 

Mathematical & Reasoning Skills

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

· Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

· Able to practical problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

· Able to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
