Primary Duties and Tasks:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
● Ensures safe work environment and practices.
● Completes Lock out tag out
● Supports & drives continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing
● Performs and maintains general PM’s, PDM’s, condition monitoring programs.
● Lubricates and cleans parts.
● Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
● Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
● Identifies and uses correct hand tools.
● Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
● Repairs or replaces defective parts.
● Start devices to test their performance.
● Troubleshoots and repairs basic mechanical drive systems, electrical circuits and basic plumbing.
● Repairs electrical equipment.
● Troubleshoots and repairs basic hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, including full understanding of line numbering and symbols used on prints.
● Sets up and operates drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.
● Repairs and replaces pumps, mechanical seals and heat exchangers.
● Operates oxy/acetylene torch for cutting and heating.
● Welds MIG.
● Plan, perform, layout, and execute maintenance project work.
● Maintain shop cleanliness.
● Order parts and supplies
● Notify production when equipment is back on line
Secondary Duties and Tasks:
● Sets up and makes ready new cast aluminum molds.
● Make CNC fixtures from wood, epoxy, and other materials.
● Repairs or reworks damaged or broken tools & fixtures.
● Performs basic plumbing of tools, silver soldering and bending of copper.
● Make and repair assembly fixtures.
● Basic woodworking.
● Sets up and operates drill press, table saw, and other wood working tools.
Qualifications:
Education / Experience
● High School Diploma or GED.
● 3+ years experience in a similar role
● Average Computer experience (Word, Excel).
● Basic understanding and use of multimeters.
● Read basic wiring diagrams, including understanding wire numbering/coding and symbols used.
● Understand Metric and English descriptions for fasteners, torque, etc.
● Understand fastener markings for strength in ISO and English format.
● Able to read mechanical and assembly prints.
● Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
● Ability to write reports, procedural manuals, and correspondence.
● Able to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other employees.
Physical Demands
● The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
● The employee is occasionally required to sit and use hands to handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls.
● The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, carrying and moving parts, materials, and product.
