REMOTE REQUIREMENTS:
· Internet minimum recommendation:
o 20Mb/s down, 10Mb/s up, less than 10ms latency. Comcast offers up to 1000Mb/s down, 40Mb/s up, less than 5ms latency.
· Computer:
o Windows 10 or 11 with i5 processor or better, 8GB+ RAM or better, 1920x1080 resolution screen, ability to run an extra monitor if you wish.
o Gotchas: 4K(3840x2160) may be too small of a font for some of the applications. You will have to play with your settings to read some parts of Intergy.
o Mac with Sequoia OS or newer.
o Virus protection on your computer. Recommend Sentinel One or Sophos.
***No Chromebooks, Windows 7, old Mac OS, etc. Computers must be able to update to stay secure.
Position Summary:
Gastroenterology of the Rockies is a rapidly growing Gastroenterology practice in Boulder County and the greater Denver Metro area with seven office locations and six Ambulatory Surgery Centers.
Processes patient's pathology and gives results in a timely and accurate manner. Continuously checks work for accuracy of data processed. Maintains high level of security and confidentiality regarding the information in his/her care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- In all encounters, acts as the patient’s advocate to ensure optimum patient satisfaction with the experience and care they receive. Always communicates in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that preserves the patient’s rights and dignity.
- Dispose all scanned materials by shredding as required by practice policy on a regularly scheduled basis. Does not allow documents requiring shredding to get backed up.
- Contact patients to provide the results of tests, or other appropriate information.
- Able to educate patients about GI specific conditions, tests and medications using language, terms, and methods that the patient can easily understand. Ensure that patients are provided with appropriate written or verbal information. Asks questions and seeks clarification from providers and RNs when appropriate.
- Document all patient interactions in the appropriate system in a timely and accurate manner and verify that all documentation is complete, concise, and accurately reflects the complete situation and the care that was given.
- Delivers’ pathology results in a timely manner (within 7 days and as soon as possible for urgent results). Able to prioritize tasks appropriately. All electronic charting is complete, accurate and professional.
- Performs other projects and/or tasks as requested by the management team.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant Program, Emergency Medical Technician Program, OR college graduate with science major highly preferred. High School Diploma required.
- Two years’ experience in medical records processing. GI experience is highly preferred. Able to work quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Good verbal, written and oral communications skills
- Able to interface positively and professionally with individuals at all levels both within and outside of the organization.
- Intermediate computer skills in a PC environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- This position is primarily sedentary and requires the ability to remain seated for extended periods, with occasional standing, walking, and use of a computer and standard office equipment.
- Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
