Investor Relations Manager Responsibilities are:
- Develop investor confidence and belief in the company’s vision and strategy for delivering shareholder value.
- Develop a robust investor relations strategy and framework.
- Create and manage a strong reputation by demonstrating consistent and clear communication between internal and external parties.
- Establishes the optimum type and mix of shareholders and creates that mix through various targeting initiatives.
- Manage equity research and investor relationships.
- Provide insights on market activity and present them to the leadership team.
- Analyze and present financial trends, competitor behavior, shareholder issues, and anything else that could impact the business.
- Responsible for overseeing and managing quarterly earnings and conference calls.
- Creates presentations, press releases, and other communication materials for earnings releases, industry events, and presentations to analysts, brokers, and investors.
- Work with legal counsel to ensure compliance on regulatory matters.
- Provides Regulation Fair Disclosure training to all company spokespersons.
- Presentations and data visualization.
- Financial modeling & research model creation.
- Information collection/preparation.
- Interacting with equity research analysts.
- Oversees the production of all annual reports, SEC filings, and proxy statements
- Manages the investor relations portion of the company web site.
- Serves as the key point of contact for the investment community.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with stock exchange representatives.
- Organizes conferences, road shows, earnings conference calls, and investor meetings.
- Provides feedback to management regarding the investment community's perception of how the company is being managed and their view of its financial results.
- Represents the views of the investor community to the management team in developing corporate strategy.
- Provides feedback to the management team regarding the impact of stock repurchase programs or dividend changes on the investment community.
Investor Relations Manager Qualifications are:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
- An MBA or FMVA certification is an asset.
- 5 or more years of experience dealing with investors and a strong track record of creating positive relations with the investor community and Equity Research Analysts.
- Strong understanding of SEC laws, securities disclosure requirements, and filing requirements.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the capital markets and a thorough understanding of key metrics for companies in the industry.
- Intimately familiar with financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used by analysts and investors.
- A strong understanding of macroeconomics, capital markets trends, competitor activities, industry dynamics, and customer trends.
- A professional who is also entrepreneurial and has a client-minded focus.
- Must be able to perform in a high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Has superb written and verbal communication skills and can draft engaging and impactful messages for inspiring employees and investors.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, to express technical and nontechnical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
