Garage 42 is looking for an experienced leader to oversee its business operations. The General Manager is responsible for managing the business operations, sales, and customer satisfaction. This individual has to provide leadership, management, and vision necessary to attract new customers and to ensure that all customers are provided with best-in-class service.

Description

Responsibilities

Operational Management:

  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager to ensure all aspects of the day-to-day operations are carried out efficiently and with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Supervise vehicle intake, storage, maintenance, and retrieval processes.
  • Oversee service operations, including vehicle sales, transportation, and detailing, ensuring they meet high standards.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to streamline the handling of vehicles.
  • Supervise the operations staff, such as mechanics, detailers, and transport drivers.
  • Monitor facility maintenance and security systems to ensure proper functioning.


Sales Management:

  • Manage marketing and advertising strategies and budgets to maximize resources and achieve sales targets.
  • Coordinate marketing events, including customer exclusive events, public events, and those attended by Garage 42.
  • Lead the sales process, focusing on customer experience and conversion rate.
  • Manage the sales process from customer inquiry to membership sign-up.


Business Management:

  • Identify and document opportunities for business growth and improvement.
  • Identify hiring or equipment needs to enhance customer service.
  • Facilitate the rollout of new services or business operations.
  • Regularly communicate with the President and CEO to align on business improvement and growth opportunities.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on the business's performance.


Team Leadership:

  • Assess team skills and experience requirements and justify new positions if necessary.
  • Recruit, train, and oversee a team of storage, detailing, transport, and maintenance personnel.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development to ensure high performance and job satisfaction.
  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and accountability.


Customer Relations:

  • Serve as the main point of contact for high-profile clients and ensure exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Address client inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and professionally.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer experience and implement strategies to increase client satisfaction and retention.
  • Ensure customers receive the services sold, including customer events and access to amenities.


Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for the facility.
  • Monitor expenses, revenue streams, and profitability targets to ensure financial sustainability and growth.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency.


Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess facility safety and security measures.
  • Implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Manage DOT/MC compliance for transportation vehicles and dealership license requirements.


Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma and at least six years of experience in a similar role OR a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field and at least 4 years of similar experience.
  • Willingness to work extended hours or weekends with short notice to meet sales goals and customer needs.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Xero or other accounting software is preferred.

Salary

$110,000 - $160,000 per year
