Description

Product Engineer

Role Overview

Game Plan Tech is seeking a Product Engineer who blends strategic product leadership with hands-on execution in an AI-native environment. This role shapes product vision, improves delivery processes across teams, and establishes the next generation of product practices in an organization that is moving quickly toward high-velocity, AI-enabled development.

You will work closely with engineering, technical project managers, and customer-facing leads to bring clarity to priorities, eliminate friction, strengthen communication loops, and help define the operating model for how modern product work is done. This is not a traditional product owner or legacy product manager role. It is a forward-leaning position that leverages generative AI to accelerate strategy, planning, communication, and delivery.

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong engineering foundation and fluency in how modern software systems are designed, built, and operated
  • Proven success leading complex technical projects or product work in fast-moving environments
  • Ability to partner deeply with engineers and earn trust through clarity, judgment, and technical reasoning
  • Experience managing roadmaps, translating stakeholder needs, and structuring product decisions
  • Commitment to high-quality communication, organization, and writing
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging AI tools and methods that reshape product workflows

Key Responsibilities

Product Vision and AI-Native Planning

  • Own product vision, roadmap, priorities, and sequencing
  • Convert stakeholder goals into clear requirements and backlog structure
  • Use generative AI to accelerate PRDs, strategies, user stories, and stakeholder communications
  • Evaluate emerging AI tools and guide adoption or retirement based on team needs
  • Turn brief conversations into high-quality written artifacts through AI-supported workflows

Cross-Team Delivery and Execution Leadership

  • Ensure teams have clarity on what is being built, why it matters, and how success will be measured
  • Maintain predictable communication loops to eliminate surprises in deliverables or deadlines
  • Partner with engineering, TPMs, and customer leads to remove blockers and improve delivery health
  • Bring consistency to product practices across projects and cross-pollinate successful approaches
  • Help define lightweight validation processes that align with fast, iterative development

Organizational Design and Team Development

  • Clarify role boundaries across Product Engineers, TPMs, PMO, and engineering leads
  • Define and refine the operating model for product work in an AI-native organization
  • Provide guidance and mentorship for Technical Project Managers and hybrid roles
  • Identify skill gaps and support professional development for team members working closely with product engineering
  • Contribute to the long-term evolution of the Product Engineer discipline at Game Plan Tech
