Power of the Youth Vote Volunteer Coordinator - Job Description

Program: Power of the Youth Vote Campaign


Employment Type: Temporary/ Seasonal, Part-Time


Hourly Rate

$24 per hour plus mileage and meal reimbursement. A cell phone stipend is also provided. 


Employment Period

October 5, 2026 through November 3, 2026


Expected Workdays

Volunteer coordination occurs throughout the program; evening work and check-ins as assigned (generally Wednesday through Fridays), with potential weekend support on volunteer days of action and events. Schedules are subject to change based on program needs and shifts. 


Expected Shift

Wednesday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Saturdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Sundays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm

Evening availability from 3:00 PM onward is required for weekdays.


Regular Off Days

Days not assigned by the supervisor; weekend work is required.


Requirements

Ability to pass a background check; availability for evenings from 4:00 PM and weekends; legal authorization to work in the U.S.; must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance. Must have a smartphone with reliable internet service and the ability to download and manage applications.  Mileage reimbursement will be provided at $.76/ mile.


Required Training

Required GCLI Volunteer Coordinator training and onboarding on 10/12/26 before program work begins.


Position Summary

Recruit, schedule, communicate with, and track volunteers and youth participants in Power of the Youth Vote days of action, and coordinate with the Team Lead to support organized volunteer field shifts.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Recruit volunteers through GCLI programs, schools, youth cohorts, community partners, events, outreach lists, and social media.
  • Maintain accurate volunteer contact information, schedules, rosters, and attendance records.
  • Send reminders, shift details, launch information, and required instructions to volunteers.
  • Support volunteer onboarding and ensure volunteers receive needed materials, training, and guidance.
  • Use the designated volunteer tracking platform to document participation.
  • Support nightly reporting on outreach contact goals to attainment in company-provided systems or trackers, 
  • Coordinate with the Team Lead on canvass assignments, event staffing, and support needs, including evening and weekend shifts.
  • Track completed volunteer shifts and communicate shortages or cancellations promptly.
  • Maintain supplies and technology needs of the program to ensure volunteers have what they need to participate in the program. 
  • Support volunteer follow-up, recognition, and continued engagement after shifts.
  • Help ensure youth volunteers are safely supervised and follow GCLI safety and conduct policies.


Attendance, Timekeeping and Conduct

  • Support nightly reporting on outreach contact goals to attainment in company-provided systems or trackers, 
  • Report to work on time for every assigned shift, training, and check-in.
  • Work only scheduled or supervisor-approved hours and submit accurate time records.
  • Follow approved GCLI scripts, materials, data procedures, safety instructions, and organizational policies.
  • Treat voters, youth, community members, volunteers, and coworkers professionally and respectfully.
  • Notify your supervisor as soon as possible if you will be late, absent, or unable to complete an assigned shift.
  • Successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.
  • Protect confidential voter, youth participant, contact, and organizational information.
