Description

About the Position

Fusion Community Empowerment is seeking an organized, tech-savvy, resourceful, and dependable Program Support & Resource Coordinator to support our growing programs and client services team.

This position plays an important behind-the-scenes role in helping our staff serve clients effectively. The Program Support & Resource Coordinator will help keep resources, program information, client follow-ups, data, and documentation organized so our direct-service staff can spend more time focused on the people we serve.

A major part of this role will be supporting our Housing Navigator and program staff by researching and identifying reputable community resources, verifying information, and maintaining an organized and up-to-date resource directory.

We need someone who is comfortable using technology, learning new systems, researching online, working in spreadsheets, and figuring things out. You should be able to do more than simply find a website or send a referral, you should be willing to verify information, ask questions, keep accurate records, and follow through.

What You'll Do

  • Research community resources, housing opportunities, employment programs, benefits, financial assistance, food resources, educational opportunities, and other services that may benefit our clients.
  • Contact organizations to verify eligibility requirements, availability, application processes, deadlines, and contact information.
  • Maintain and regularly update Fusion's community resource directory.
  • Provide research and administrative support to the Housing Navigator and program staff.
  • Help organize client resources, referrals, follow-ups, and program documentation.
  • Complete data entry and assist with tracking program activities, outcomes, and reporting.
  • Use spreadsheets, shared drives, online databases, project-management tools, and other technology to organize information.
  • Help staff identify new community partners and resources throughout Los Angeles County.
  • Follow up on assigned tasks and communicate updates without needing repeated reminders.
  • Assist with program activities, outreach, events, and special projects.
  • Help identify ways technology and better systems can make our team's work more efficient.
  • Work collaboratively with a small team where priorities may change based on client and program needs.

Who We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you are:

  • Tech-savvy — you are comfortable learning new software and working with Google Workspace, spreadsheets, online databases, shared drives, virtual meetings, and digital tools.
  • Resourceful — when you don't know something, your first instinct is to research, explore, and try to find the answer.
  • Organized — you can manage multiple assignments, deadlines, documents, and follow-ups without things falling through the cracks.
  • Reliable — when you say you are going to complete something, the team can depend on you to follow through.
  • Detail-oriented — you understand that outdated or incorrect information can affect a client's ability to receive help.
  • A strong communicator — you can communicate professionally with clients, community organizations, partners, and team members.
  • Proactive — you notice what needs to be done and take appropriate action instead of always waiting to be told.
  • Adaptable — you are comfortable working in a small nonprofit where priorities can shift and team members sometimes help outside their usual responsibilities.
  • Mission-driven — you care about helping people access housing, employment, financial stability, and essential community resources.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience with Google Workspace, including Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Calendar.
  • Strong internet research skills.
  • Experience with Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Ability to learn databases, case-management systems, project-management platforms, and other software quickly.
  • Strong written communication and data-entry skills.
  • Experience in nonprofit organizations, social services, community programs, housing, healthcare, administrative support, resource navigation, or program coordination is helpful.

You do not need to know every system we use on your first day. We are looking for someone who is comfortable with technology and confident in their ability to learn.
