Summary:                                        

The Ski Area General Maintenance team member is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure across the ski area. This role supports daily mountain operations through preventative maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of buildings and base areas.     

                                                                                                                                             

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the mountain base area, parking lots, walkways, patios, decks, and other guest-facing outdoor spaces. 
  • Perform snow and ice management activities, including plowing, shoveling, sanding, salting, and assisting with parking operations as needed. 
  • Inspect, maintain, and organize outdoor amenities, equipment, signage, furniture, fire pits, cabanas, and related infrastructure. 
  • Collect and dispose of trash, clean public areas, and assist in maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. 
  • Support daily mountain operations by assisting with lift maze setup and breakdown, equipment storage, fueling vehicles, and end-of-day closing procedures. 
  • Assist Mountain Operations, Lift Maintenance, and other departments with operational and maintenance tasks as needed. 
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and work areas in clean, organized, and safe conditions. 
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and operational standards. 
  • Work on a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and periods of inclement weather during the ski season. 

 

Qualifications:      

  • High school diploma or equivalent required                                                                                   
  • Ability to follow directions, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under the guidance of supervisors and experienced team members. 
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools independently 
  • Strong work ethic 
  • Willing to work outside in all weather conditions (rain, snow, cold, wind) 
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and must always meet company insurability requirements. 
  • Must operate small machinery such as snowblower, power brooms, and leaf blowers 
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, or plumbing skills are a plus. 

 

Physical Demands: 

This position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking on slippery, uneven, snow-covered, and icy surfaces. Employees are regularly exposed to the hazards typical of a mountain environment, including the risk of slips, falls, and changing weather conditions, and must adhere to all safety policies and procedures. The role requires the ability to climb in and out of or onto snow vehicles, lift and carry up to 50 pounds, push and pull heavy objects, and maneuver equipment in deep snow and on steep terrain. Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, including cold temperatures, snow, wind, and rain, and requires remaining on your feet for much of the scheduled shift. While some duties may be performed indoors, employees must maintain constant attentiveness to lift operations and passenger safety at all times.
