Freight Flex is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our growing Accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and ensuring financial operations run efficiently. You'll play a key role in supporting our accounting functions by managing invoicing, vendor billing, accounting communications, documentation, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage and monitor the accounting inbox, ensuring timely review, prioritization, and resolution of incoming requests and inquiries.
  • Oversee customer invoicing processes, including aging analysis, reconciliation of variances, and management of customer billing portals.
  • Process and approve vendor bills through TP Audit, identifying, investigating, and resolving exceptions and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, draft, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), compiling a comprehensive SOP manual that documents all accounting processes and workflows.
  • Review unapproved vendor bill summaries and ensure aging open vendor bills are resolved within established deadlines, including requesting and validating missing documentation.
  • Provide prompt, accurate, and professional responses to agent and internal team requests related to accounting matters.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in accounting operations.

 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or billing experience preferred. Experience can come from internships!
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working with accounting software, ERP systems, or transportation management systems is a plus.

 

Work Environment 

  • In-office position located in Denton, Texas. First 90 days are 100% in office. After 90 days, work from home is allowed one day each week.
