Freight Flex is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented After-Hours Carrier Compliance Specialist to support our carrier onboarding, monitoring, and fraud prevention efforts outside of standard business hours. This role plays a critical part in protecting the integrity of our freight network while ensuring carriers are properly vetted and approved quickly to support operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, has strong attention to detail, and understands the importance of balancing speed with risk management. The ideal candidate must be able to travel to the Charleston office for 3-4 days for training/orientation. The ideal candidate also must be able to travel to the Charleston office quarterly for quarterly reviews. The expenses for travel will be covered by Freight Flex.

 

Key Responsibilities

·      Review and approve carrier packets during after-hours coverage

·      Verify carrier information including:

·      MC/DOT authority

·      Insurance compliance

·      Safety ratings

·      Carrier contact information

·      Banking and payment verification

·      Monitor for potential fraud indicators and suspicious activity

·      Validate carrier documentation and ensure compliance standards are met

·      Communicate with carriers regarding onboarding requirements and missing documents

·      Work closely with operations and sales teams to support urgent load coverage needs

·      Escalate high-risk situations or compliance concerns to leadership immediately

·      Maintain accurate notes and updates within compliance systems and TMS platforms

·      Assist in monitoring active carrier statuses and insurance expirations when needed

·      Travel to the Charleston, SC office for training, quarterly reviews as required my management.

 

Schedule Expectations

Typical coverage may include:

Weeknights (e.g., 5 PM – 2 AM)

Weekend and holiday coverage

Availability for urgent operational support as needed

 

Qualifications include having experience in:

·      Freight brokerage

·      Carrier sales

·      Carrier compliance

·      Logistics operations

·      Strong understanding of:

·      FMCSA regulations

·      Carrier onboarding procedures

·      Fraud prevention best practices

·      Ability to identify red flags and make sound decisions quickly

·      Excellent communication and organizational skills

·      High attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively

·      Comfortable working independently during after-hours coverage

 

Preferred Skills:

Experience using carrier monitoring/compliance platforms such as:

·      Familiarity with freight fraud trends and identity verification processes

·      Strong sense of urgency and operational awareness

·      Ability to support high-volume onboarding environments
