Free Baltimore is seeking a passionate, grounded, and skilled Group Facilitator to lead transformative sessions for our community members. This role is specifically designed for someone who believes in second chances and is dedicated to supporting youth and adults as they navigate the transition from incarceration back into society.
As a facilitator, you won’t just be "teaching"—you’ll be providing the tools and mental frameworks necessary for successful reentry through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) principles. This is an ideal position for a community-minded professional looking to make a direct, tangible impact on Baltimore’s future.
Schedule & Commitment
Sessions are held during the following times (candidates must be available for all slots):
- Monday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Thursday: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate CBT Groups: Lead structured sessions for both youth and adult cohorts, focusing on identifying cognitive distortions, emotional regulation, and pro-social decision-making.
- Support Reentry Transitions: Address the unique challenges of returning citizens, including employment readiness, conflict resolution, and rebuilding family dynamics.
- Foster a Safe Environment: Create a non-judgmental space where participants feel heard, respected, and motivated to change.
- Track Progress: Maintain brief, accurate session notes to monitor participant engagement and growth.
Qualifications
- CBT Knowledge: Solid understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Treatment techniques and their application in group settings.
- Relevant Experience: Experience working with justice-involved individuals or at-risk youth is highly preferred.
- Communication Style: Ability to relate to diverse populations with empathy, authority, and authenticity.
- Reliability: Punctuality is a must, as our participants rely on the consistency of these sessions.
