About Franchise Incubators

Franchise Incubators helps founders turn a business that already works into a franchise. Most of the founders we meet have built something good. One location, sometimes a few, with real customers and steady demand. Franchising it is a different job than running it, and it takes money, systems, and experience most owners can't take on while still running the business they have. That's the part we do. We put our own money into the brands we take on, so we're in it alongside the founder. That changes what we pay attention to. We care whether locations are healthy, whether franchisees would recommend the brand to someone else, and whether the company still feels like the founder's. We've built businesses, franchised them, bought them, and sold them, so we have a decent idea of what we're asking of people who trust us with theirs. We believe in focus. We do one thing, and we're building to be the best in the world at it. We set clear goals, we measure them regularly, and we hire people who can deliver for the founders and franchisees counting on us. We're small and early in our growth, which cuts both ways. There's less structure here than you'd get somewhere bigger, and more room to build it. What you put in place now is what the next people inherit. If that sounds like the work you want to be doing, we'd like to hear from you.

Description

The role

As our Marketing Manager, you'll shape how we show up in the world, and you'll help our brands do the same. We have a real story to tell, and marketing is how we reach the right founders, build our reputation in the franchise industry, and give our brands what they need to grow. You'll own our brand and our messaging, our website and how we get found, and the content and systems that tie it together. You'll advise the brands we invest in on their marketing, and you'll work with No Franchise Left Behind, our lead generation agency, on lead strategy.

This is a build role. You'll set up the marketing engine, grow our organic traffic through SEO and AEO, and sharpen how we and our brands tell our stories. You'll work across the whole company, from leadership to the founders of our portfolio brands. You're our first full-time marketing hire, but you won't be doing all of this alone. For design and paid media you'll lean on outside partners while we build the internal team over time. When it comes to our marketing, it starts with you.

You'll report to our President & COO and work closely with our leadership team and our portfolio brand founders. This role has no direct reports.

What you'll own

Marketing operations and automation, 50% of your time

  • Own our marketing stack, starting with HubSpot, and keep our data clean and useful
  • Build and run our email marketing in HubSpot: campaigns, sequences, and nurture workflows that move both paid and organic leads through the funnel
  • Manage lifecycle stages, lead scoring, and segmentation, run retargeting to keep warm leads moving, and hand sales-ready leads to the development team
  • Keep our content engine running across social, email, and blog, consistently and on schedule
  • Manage our design process and our outside design partners, from brief to final delivery, so our brand and our portfolio brands look right and stay on message
  • Write clear creative briefs and keep design projects on time and on budget
  • Own our brand guidelines and asset library so design stays consistent across every brand
  • Work with No Franchise Left Behind on ad budgets and lead generation strategy
  • Test and improve landing pages and funnels so more traffic becomes leads, and report on the full funnel from cost per lead to pipeline
  • Write the marketing playbooks and SOPs so what works becomes repeatable as we grow

Our brand, website, and SEO, 25% of your time

  • Own the Franchise Incubators brand and our messaging, and keep our story consistent everywhere we show up
  • Own SEO and AEO for our website so the right founders find us and we generate organic leads
  • Manage website projects and improvements, keeping the site current, on message, and built to convert
  • Build our thought leadership and industry presence so more of the right people know who we are
  • Lead marketing for our own launches, announcements, and events

Portfolio brand marketing, 25% of your time

  • Advise the brands in our portfolio on marketing strategy and execution
  • Own the StoryBrand process with them so every brand tells a clear story
  • Guide each brand's website, SEO, and AEO so they grow organic leads too
  • Help them plan and run campaigns, and produce the collateral they need, from one-pagers to candidate presentations
  • Run marketing audits on brands we're considering, and work with leadership to pick the best ones

A day in the life

No two days look the same, and that's part of what makes this job good. One morning you might be writing a piece to put us in front of the right founders, or sharpening the website so it ranks and converts. That afternoon you're advising one of our brands on their messaging and building the collateral to match. Some days you're running a marketing audit on a brand we're considering, mapping out the content calendar, or working with No Franchise Left Behind on ad budgets. Other days you're in HubSpot pulling the numbers that show what's working.

Whatever the day holds, it comes down to one thing. You make sure we and the brands we build tell a clear story that reaches the right people.

This Role Might Be a Good Fit If You Have...

  • 3 to 5 years of marketing experience across channels like content, social, and web
  • Website experience, and the ability to manage website projects and improvements. You don't need to build sites from scratch, but you know how to run the work and get results
  • Working knowledge of SEO and an understanding of AEO, with the ability to grow organic traffic and leads through good content and site structure
  • Strong writing. You can turn a complicated offer into a clear story
  • Hands-on HubSpot experience, including email workflows, sequences, and lifecycle marketing
  • The ability to manage outside vendors and a design process, keeping the work on brand and on deadline
  • A builder's instinct. You like an early-stage company where you write the playbook instead of running someone else's
  • Ownership of outcomes. You move fast and don't need a plan handed to you to get going

Nice to have: experience with the StoryBrand framework from Donald Miller, since you'll own that process for us and our portfolio brands.

Compensation

Base salary is $80,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience. On top of base, this role carries a quarterly goals bonus worth up to 16% of your base salary across the year. Each quarter, you and your Team Leader set two goals together, and you can earn up to 4% of your base for that quarter based on hitting them. Setting the goals together keeps them clear, fair, and tied to the work that matters most. At the top of the base range, full achievement of every quarterly goal brings total earning potential to $104,400.

What's In It For You

  • Paid time off. 15 days of paid time off per year, plus personal days, floating holidays, and a paid volunteer day.
  • Paid holidays. Nine or more paid company holidays annually.
  • Flexible hours. We care about outcomes, not hours logged. Build the schedule that lets you do your best work.
  • Company gatherings. Remote doesn't mean disconnected. We bring the team together in person so you know the people you're building with.
  • Your home office. We'll set you up with the equipment you need to do this job well from wherever you work.
  • Growth and development. A discretionary budget for your professional growth: the courses, certifications, conferences, and tools that make you better at your craft.
  • A real seat at the table. You're our first full-time marketing hire, reporting directly to the President & COO. You'll build this function rather than inherit it, and you'll help shape the team that comes after you.
  • Looking ahead. Medical, dental, and vision coverage is not in place today. We plan to roll those benefits out later this year, and we'll be straight with you about where things stand when we talk.

Working conditions

This is a full-time, salaried, W2 position. The role is fully remote, with a hybrid option if you're in or near Austin, Texas. Travel is minimal, under 15% annually, mostly for team gatherings, brand visits, and industry events.

The work is primarily sedentary and computer-based, done from a home office or similar dedicated workspace with reliable high-speed internet. It requires the ability to communicate clearly by video, phone, and in writing, to work at a computer for extended periods, and to occasionally travel by car or air. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this role.

Our hiring process

We take hiring seriously, because getting it right matters as much to you as it does to us. Here's what to expect.

After you apply, we read every application ourselves. If your background lines up with what this role needs, we'll reach out to set up a first conversation about your experience, what you're looking for next, and whether this is a fit in both directions. From there you'll meet more of the team. We may ask you to work through a short technical or practical exercise with us during a live interview to better understand your skills as they apply to the role. Everyone who reaches the interview stage hears back from us either way. If we make you an offer, we'll walk through the pay, the goals, and what your first ninety days look like before you decide.

Equal opportunity

Franchise Incubators is an equal opportunity employer. We're building a team that reflects the range of founders, franchisees, and communities our brands serve, and we make hiring decisions on the strength of the person in front of us.
