The selected candidate will perform work on assignments independently, with supervisor guidance and support provided as needed. All work will be performed in compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines, as well as Foresight procedures and standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, the selected candidate will be given an opportunity to wear multiple hats and to help grow the company’s geotechnical services group. His or her primary roles/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Write/review geotechnical and pavement engineering reports and deliverables
• Prepare project scopes, budgets, and proposals for geotechnical and pavement-related projects
• Manage subsurface investigations (geotechnical coring and drilling)
• Perform soil classification and boring log preparation
• Perform a wide range of geotechnical and pavement analyses and designs
• Develop rehabilitation strategies and recommendations for pavement projects
• Perform FWD, GPR and pavement laboratory data analysis and reporting
• Assist with field work including pavement condition evaluations, FWD, GPR, coring, DCP testing
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• Other job duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this position:

• Professional Engineer registration in the State of Texas is required
• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar field
• Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred, but not required
• 5 to 10 years of transportation, pavement, and/or geotechnical engineering experience is preferred
• Proficiency is applicable analysis software including, but not limited to, FPS21, Darwin, Tx-CRCP-ME, WinCore
• Experience with software and practices for geotechnical engineering, GPR and/or FWD data collection, management, analysis, and reporting
• Experience with pavement and asset management systems
• Strong communication skills and experience coordinating with others (including project team members and/or external stakeholders) to identify and address project issues

Job Location

The selected candidate will perform office job duties primarily from the Foresight Austin headquarters, located at 13805 Research Blvd, Suite 200 in Austin, Texas 78750. Field work will be performed at the relevant project site and/or materials storage site, which varies based on specific work assignments.

Travel Requirements

<25% to conduct field investigations, including assisting with geotechnical assignments and site forensic inspections at various locations throughout Texas.
