FoodStream Learn, Nutrition & Culinary Senior Program Manager

About the Role
FoodStream Learn is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Program Manager to oversee the strategic coordination and operational execution of our food education programs in NYC public schools. This leadership role involves supervising program staff and educators, managing school partnerships, ensuring program quality and compliance, and supporting program expansion. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, leader, and systems thinker with a track record in education or nonprofit program management.
Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Oversee all aspects of program implementation, ensuring alignment with FoodStream’s mission and educational standards.
- Team Management: Supervise and support junior coordinators, assistants, and educators; lead onboarding, training, and ongoing team development.
- School Partnerships: Maintain and grow relationships with school leaders, administrators, and DOE liaisons; manage communications and problem-solving.
- Logistics & Scheduling: Manage high-level logistics, oversee program calendars across school sites, and ensure all resources (staff, materials, curriculum, etc.) are in place.
- Curriculum Oversight: Collaborate with curriculum developers and educators to align content with school needs, DOE standards, and inclusive teaching practices.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Lead data collection, impact reporting, and feedback processes to assess program effectiveness and areas for improvement.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure programs meet health, safety, and quality guidelines; troubleshoot operational issues as needed.
- Strategic Development: Support grant reporting, partner communications, and long-term planning for program growth and sustainability.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Program Management, Public Health, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 4+ years of experience in program management, school partnerships, or nonprofit operations
- Experience supervising teams or managing junior staff
- Strong leadership, planning, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfort managing multiple projects and school relationships simultaneously
- Proficiency with Google Suite and project management tools (e.g., Airtable, Trello, Asana)
- Access to own transport, valid NY State driver license and computer in good working order
Preferred:
- Experience working with NYC public schools or DOE programming
- Familiarity with food education, nutrition, or sustainability
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Experience designing or overseeing curriculum and educator training
Hours & Contract Details
- Part-time contract position with flexible scheduling based on school program needs and team oversight
- Hourly compensation of $30 - $40, based on experience and qualifications
