FoggyOps LLC is seeking a proactive and skilled Part-Time MSP Support Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide remote technical support to our clients while being available for occasional onsite visits when required. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing client IT systems while delivering exceptional customer service.

Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide remote support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Run and wire network cables as required during onsite visits.
  • Install and configure security cameras and access control devices, primarily using the UniFi suite.
  • Set up and maintain networks, including UniFi systems, for client environments.
  • Run and wire network cables as required during onsite visits.
  • Conduct remote diagnostics and troubleshooting of client IT systems, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Manage and resolve tickets through the company’s PSA system, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance remotely and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Assist in deploying and managing software updates, patches, and configurations remotely.
  • Travel to client sites as needed for hardware installations, repairs, or advanced troubleshooting.
  • Educate clients on basic IT operations and remote troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ensure professional and clear communication with clients and team members, both remotely and in-person.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in IT or related field preferred.
  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in IT support or a related role.
  • Proficiency in remote support tools and platforms, including RMM and PSA systems.
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, subnetting, VPNs, etc.).
  • Ability to diagnose and repair hardware and software issues both remotely and onsite.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. during onsite visits.
  • Comfortable working at heights when required.
  • Willingness to travel to client locations within the service area (reliable transportation required).

Working Hours

  • Flexible, approximately 20-30 hours per week.
  • Must be available for occasional evening or weekend work based on client needs.

Salary

$25 - $30 per hour
