NOTE: This position is for our sister company Cedar Green Recovery, which provides supportive housing services for individuals with substance use disorder and who are working actively to remain sober.

Position Overview:   

The Recovery Support Technician (RST) provides support and care for residents in a structured living environment. The RST is tasked with maintaining an inviting, comfortable, and safe environment. The RST will be working in coordination with clinical teams from outside treatment providers and medical professionals to ensure residents in the structured living environment are making consistent progress in their personal recovery journey. The RST is the first point of contact for residents for any needs while residing at the home.

 

Job Functions:   

·        May conduct supportive, non-clinical groups, including AA/NA, or other non-clinical recovery-based programs.

·        Ensure daily activity and house programming schedules are followed by residents.

·        Transport residents to scheduled program activities/events, outings, medical/dental appointments, local agencies associated with their treatment plan, and when applicable unscheduled activities that arise.

·        Participate and provide oversight during all transportation or at venues outside of the home.

·        Responsible for the safety of the residents and cleanliness of the property, through ongoing, consistent supervision of the residents.

·        Will document any necessary daily notes on all residents assigned.

·        Assisting, teaching, and mentoring residents on activities of daily living, such as laundry, hygiene, cooking, cleaning, etc.

·        Assisting residents in exercise/wellness activities (i.e., walks in the neighborhood, going to the gym).

·        Cooking, meal preparation, cleaning, basic/simple maintenance whenever necessary to ensure home is kept in pristine condition, even if residents are resistant to completing their daily chores.

·        Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualification Requirements: 

We are looking for a dynamic professional who meets the following prerequisites: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Post secondary education preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working in recovery housing, behavioral health, or substance use disorder fields preferred. 

 

Competencies: 

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: 

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·        Ability to collaborate effectively with professionally licensed medical and clinical providers.

·        Understanding of electronic medical records and customer relationship management systems.

·        Ability to communicate effectively with substance use disorder patients and their loved ones.

·        Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.

·        Ability to write reports and understand clinical documentation.

·        Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

 


Language Skills:  

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret human service periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and analyze policies and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. Effective English-speaking skill required.

 

Reasoning Ability: 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

 

Computer Skills:    

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a basic understanding of Electronic Medical Records; Internet software.

Salary

$14 - $17 per hour
